100 Personalities who are transforming Africa

THE pan-African newspaper Financial Afrik/Kapital Afrik has named Tidjane Thiam “Financier of the Year”.
The former CEO of Prudential and Crédit Suisse was chosen by the selection committee on the basis of several criteria integrating his background, academic and professional, his experience and his leadership in matters of continental and global scope.
Furthermore, Vera Esperança dos Santos Daves de Sousa, current Minister of Finance of Angola, was named “Best Minister of Finance” on a shortlist of five ministers. The ongoing debt reduction process coupled with in-depth reforms were decisive in this choice.
The deal of the year 2023 went to the West African Development Bank through the largest securitization operation of receivables never experienced at the level of the Regional Securities Exchange, BRVM.
These key distinctions can be found in issue 106 of Financial Afrik on “The 100 personalities who transform Africa” online on Financial Afrik. A selection, which summarizes the news of mergers and acquisitions, mergers and trends of an overall exciting year.
Unlike other editions and due to a busy calendar of events, Financial Afrik has decoupled the announcement of winners of the “Financial Afrik Awards” conference, which will soon be held in a renovated and festive setting.
Launched in 2013 in Casablanca, Nouakchott and Dakar, the Financial Afrik newspaper is a pan-African platform bringing together two sites internet (Financial Afrik in French and Kapital Afrik in English), a YouTube channel (Financial Afrik TV), a radio (FInancialAfrik Radio), a daily newsletter and a social media viewer with 500,000 followers.
