15 ships with food items, others awaiting to berth — NPA

THE Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) says 18 ships laden with food items and other goods have arrived Lagos Port Complex waiting to berth.

NPA made this known in its publication, `Shipping Position’, a copy of which was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Wednesday.

According to the report, the ships are carrying containers, general cargo, and gypsum.

The publication further said additional 23 ships were expected at the ports with bulk wheat, bulk sugar, base oil, bulk maize, bulk fertilizer, container, automobile gasoline, frozen fish, bulk clinker, butane gas, steel products, ethanol, and soya bean.

It said that the ships were expected to berth between Aug. 19 and Aug. 25.

The authority said 18 other ships were currently discharging general cargo, containers, bulk wheat, petrol, base oil, bulk sugar, butane gas, in ballast, automobile gasoline, bulk clinker and frozen fish at the port. (NAN)
