TWO men, Chinemerie Obidi and Chikamso Ezebike, were, on Tuesday, arraigned before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing a carton of PS game pads and phone accessories.

The defendants are standing trial on a two-count charge, bordering on conspiracy and stealing.

They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Prosecutor, Dr Simon Uche, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on Dec. 5 at a Transport Company in Ojo-Alaba, Lagos.

Uche said that the defendants conspired to steal a big carton containing PS game pads as well as phone accessories from the company.

He said that the items, valued at N500,000, belonged to the complainant, one Mr Jude Eze.

The prosecutor further stated that the defendants were eventually arrested by the police.

According to him, the offences contravene the provisions of Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Magistrate, Mr L.K.J. Layeni, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N300,000 each, with two sureties each in like sum.

Layeni, thereafter, adjourned the case till Jan. 12, 2024 for mention. (NAN)
