2 men docked for alleged unlawful possession of 14 live cartridges

TWO men were Friday docked in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan for alleged unlawful possession of 14 live cartridges.

The police charged Muideen Azeez, 40 and Tajudeen Okunola, 45, whose residential addresses were not provided with one count of unlawful possession of cartridge.

The Prosecution Counsel, Mr Philip Amusan, told the court that the defendants allegedly committed the offence on June 15, at about 12. 30 p.m, at the Challenge area in Ibadan.

Amusan alleged that the defendants were arrested with 14 live cartridges with the intent to use same to commit felony.

He said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 417(D) of the Criminal laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The defendants however pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Magistrate  Abimbola Amole-Ajimoti admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N20, 000 each and one surety each in like sum.

She adjourned the case until Sept. 21 for hearing. (NAN)
