2 Olympic family members, Asika, Awogu installed as NUJ patrons

THE Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) has congratulated two members of the Olympic family, Obi Asika and Felix Awogu over their investiture as patrons of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Anambra State Council.
The NUJ in Anambra had on Dec. 21 bestowed the awards on the duo for their contributions to the journalism profession as well as humanity in general.
In the congratulatory letter signed by the Public Relations Officer, Tony Nezianya, the NOC says the recognition is most deserving.
Asika has recently been named a patron of the Committee, representing the South East while Awogu, a General Manager of Super Sports West Africa is on the Board of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF). He used Super Sport to facilitate sponsorships.
The NOC says the two personalities have been making great contributors to the growth and development of sports and the media, making them integral parts of Nigeria’s Olympic Movement.
“The Honours are not only well deserved but timely; it is a further confirmation of your immense contributions to youth engagement through sports.
Awogu is the Executive head, of Studios and Events at Multichoice Nigeria.
He holds a degree in Social Studies from the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, a Diploma in sports management from the Wits Business School, and a certificate in blockchain strategy from the Oxford University/Said business school.
He is a board member of the Lagos State Rugby Association, a member of the League
Obi Asika is an Ecosystem builder, Digital and Creative Entrepreneur and Executive Producer.
He is an experienced executive producer, curator and developer of original content, talent and platforms for TV, video, music and live events for many years.
He is the Founder and Chairman of
Cabal Entertainment, a full-service entertainment company established and focused on building the
a bridge between Urban Africa and the Global Diaspora and promote the creative industries.
He is the Founder of Iba Ajie Asika Resource Centre; a nonprofit Innovation Hub in Onitsha focused on the intersection between art, technology and entrepreneurship.
