20 firms bid for UMTH’s 2023 capital projects – Official

AT least 20 firms participated in Thursday’s bidding for the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital’s (UMTH) 2023 capital projects, an official has said.

In a speech at the event in Maiduguri, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the hospital, Prof. Ahmed Ahidjo, said that the exercise was intended to enhance service delivery.

Ahidjo said that the bidders had been acquainted with the requirements in line with due process.

The CMD, represented by the Assistant Director Procurement, Mr Suleiman Buba, said the capital projects included the purchase of medical equipment and staff training.

Other projects, according to him, are the extension of equipment of Radiology Department, procurement and installation of Magnetic Resonance Imaging and construction of new cardiac centre.

The rest include the contruction and equipping of drug rehabilitation centre, construction of ICT centre, procurement and installation of medical laboratory, renovation and equipping of hospital wards and completion and equipping of international radiology centre.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the event was observed by representative of the Code of Conduct Bureau, ICPC and the media. (NAN)
