THE Advocacy for Good Governance in Ebonyi (AGGE), an Ebonyi-based Non Governmental Organisation (NGO), has advised the electorate in the state to guard their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) jealously.

It’s National Coordinator, Mr Jude Chikadibia, who gave this advice at a press conference in Abakaliki on Wednesday, urged the electorate not to sell or exchange their PVCs for any price.

Chikadibia said the call became imperative because of the desperation of some politicians, who have devised ungodly methods to win elections at all cost.

He criticised the call from certain quarters, asking Ebonyi market women association to organise a political rally, bring along their PVCs as a condition to benefit from government’s financial support.

The NGO coordinator explained that the call was capable of sending a wrong signal to the public, in the face of the forthcoming 2019 general election.

He, therefore, cautioned politicians against indulging in acts that could threaten or undermine the outcome and credibility of the general elections.

“As NGO committed to promoting good governance in Ebonyi, we appeal to the electorate to vote into power leaders with credible manifesto that will transform the state and turn around the fortunes of the people,” he added. (NAN)
