2019: North Central group endorses Buhari

A pro-democracy  group, the North Central Union (NCU), on Wednesday endorsed the second term bid of President Muhammadu Buhari ahead of 2019 general polls, saying Buhari remained the most credible presidential candidate.

Mr Realwan Okpanachi, the spokesperson of the group told a newsmen : “there is no better candidate than President Muhammadu Buhari,”.

He also said the group would deliver 10 million votes for Buhari and the APC in the 2019 elections.

Listing some of the president’s achievements in the region, the NCU spokes man such project like the Mokpa-Ilorin road, “which had been a dead trap has been successfully completed and put to use.’’

“The Abuja-Lokoja road is also presently receiving the highest attention since the history of the road.

“The Owetu bridge is equally receiving serious attention by Buhari’s administration,’’ Okpanachi said.

He said the government just flagged off the road linking Abuja with Keffi (the expansion of Abuja-Keffi into 10 lane and dualization of Keffi-Akwanga and Benue-Makurdi road).

He also mentioned the gas pipeline from the south south to Kogi, Kaduna and Kano and “so many other projects’’.

Okpanachi said the people of the region are also happy with the president for his ant-corruption efforts even though they have expressed their reservations over the security in the region.

He said the people commend Mr President for his attempt to deal with the crisis in the region, urging him to do more to ensure that the solutions provided are permanent.

“We set up a committee and a campaign body known as One man-One vote for the President.

“This is to ensure that the good message of Buhari is taken to every house hold in the region.

“We are targeting to deliver 10 million votes for president Buhari’s re-election in 2019 through this body,’’ he said.

The spokesman of the NCU disclosed that the man in charge of the One man-One vote campaign is comrade Omachoko Negedu, while the national co-ordinator of the NCU is Dr Barnabas Suleiman. (NAN)
