MAKING Smart Decision (MSD), a non-governmental organisation, has urged Nigerians to acquire new skills and innovations that would help to create jobs in the country.
Mrs Pat John-Oseh, President of MSD said this on Tuesday in a statement, advising Nigerians, especially the youth, to learn to seek knowledge and wisdom first that would translate into wealth and riches in the future.
She said that without wisdom and knowledge, one might lose out on wealth creation based on ignorant decisions and poor planning and management.
John-Oseh also advised Nigerians to read books and study the world system of growth and development to emerge strong in all spheres of governance, politics, and economy and socio stratum.
“In 2019 we unveiled a book entitled Value-Surge, a compendium of values in different fields; from religious to financial values.
“The book will serve those who are used to what a yellow page book is, like growing parents who are faced with issues and need to refer to materials that relate to family values.
“Even for those who want to look at some religious issues, whatever religion; it is a book one could refer to; and also for social values, office values and work ethics.
“This year 2020, we must all thrive to be better and do better for the betterment of all,’’ she said.
John-Oseh recommended that Nigerians should read the book and other books that have everything to guide people and strengthen acceptable values and also create a more conducive society.
She, therefore, enjoined Nigerians to rise above challenges and emerge to unveil and uncover hidden treasures by reading books, attending seminars and building capacity to transform the country and the world positively.
“Anyone who will experience the ultimate emergence must be self-aware, have a valid vision, be skillful, be willing to collaborate, pursue excellence and must learn leadership and show a strong level of patriotism,’’ she said. (NAN)
