MR Yahaya Abubakar, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) incharge of Zone 15, Maiduguri, has reitrated commitment of the police to ensure peaceful conduct of the forthcoming general election.

Abubakar stated this during a visit to the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mohammed Magaji, on Wednesday in Maiduguri.

He said the visit would avail him opportunity to interact with the electoral officers to share information on the commission’s level of preparedness ahead of the general election in the state.

Responding, Magaji thanked the AIG for the visit and the support of the police to the commission.

Highlight of the visit included interactive sessions, inspection of election materials and other facilities.

The AIG was accompanied in the visit by Borno Commisioner of Police, Abdu Umar and other senior police officers in the state. (NAN)
