2023 : Assemblyman urges youth to shun political thuggery

ALHAJI Mohammed Alkali, a member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly (APC- Lafia North), has called on youth in the country to avoid being used as political thugs in the forthcoming general elections.

Alkali, who is also the Deputy Chief Whip made the call on Tuesday in Lafia while playing host to the newly elected officials of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, (NYCN), Lafia North Development Area chapter.

He said,”if youths shun thuggery, it would go a long way in promoting peace and ensuring peaceful conduct of the 2023 General Election.”

Alkali assured the youth of his continued commitment to support them to succeed at all times

“I want to assure you of my support at all times.

“I will continue to provide an all-inclusive leadership, continue to key into good policies and programmes that will have direct bearing on the lives of the youth and others.

“I have keyed into and I am still keying into different projects in the area of education, health, electricity, water supply, employment, empowerment and assistance to the less privileged ones, including students.

“These projects have direct bearing on the lives of the people of my constituency and the state at large,

“I want to urge you and other youth not to allow yourselves to be used by any selfish politician to cause trouble during the 2023 polls”, Alkali urged.

He also urged the youth to shun violence before and after 2023 while describing the them as pillars of every society.

Alkali urged the youths to always be law abiding and tolerate one another irrespective of their affiliations.

The lawmaker urged his constituents and the state at large to support Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s administration to succeed.

Earlier, the council, Mr Abubakar Kasimu- Akanza, said that the visit was to identify with the lawmaker over his purposeful leadership.

“We are here to identify with you as the member representing us in this assembly.

“Sir, you have done well and are still doing well and we want to assure you of our support to succeed at times,” he said.

The chairman commended the lawmaker for impacting positively on the lives of the people of the constituency through his various policies and programmes. (NAN)
