THE Acting Corps Marshal, Dauda Biu has warned personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) against engaging in partisan politics.

Biu gave the warning during the FRSC 2022 end of year management strategy session, on Wednesday in Abuja.

He said that the 2023 general elections would be an important event in the history of the nation, as such officers and men of the corps must discharge their duties responsibly.

“For election duties, be guided by our SOP on Election Duties as well as participation guidelines as may be provided by Independent National Electoral Commission.

“On no account should a command or individual staff be seen to exhibit partisanship in official capacities, ” he said.

Biu emphasised the need for professionalism to ensure discipline and uprightness in delivery of the corps’ mandate.

According to him, the personnel must continue to remain professional in every aspect of their duties.

“Professionalism attracts high public approval ratings, while unprofessional conducts attracts public outcry.

“We must eschew crisis and improve our conflict management skills in such a manner that it does not deteriorate to attacks on our facilities and critical infrastructure,” Biu added.

He also said that the corps would continue to retrain and admonish field operatives to eschew extortion and various uncivil acts in their dealings with the public.

The FRSC boss pledged to give more priority to staff welfare and career progression, among others, and commended the personnel for their resilience in tackling the enormous road traffic challenges in the country.

He expressed appreciation to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha for his relentless support to the corps. (NAN)
