MRS Dudu Manuga, the National Women Leader of Labour Party (LP), says victory of the presidential flag bearer of the party Peter Obi will make Nigeria better.

Manuga who said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Gombe on Friday, said Obi remained the most qualified candidate to lead Nigeria in 2023.

She said that Obi had garnered enough experience as a two-term governor of Anambra, successful entrepreneur and banker, and as a leader with sound international economic background.

According to the women leader, Nigeria needed a leader with strong character, capacity, competence and integrity to make things better in the country and Obi represents that leader Nigerians are yearning for.

“If you have observed his speeches, they are all focused on one thing: a better Nigeria for all, irrespective of religion or region.

“A better Nigeria that will work for all citizens, particularly women and their children and improve the wellbeing and welfare of all Nigerians is Obi’s major concern.

“Beyond that, he promises to take care of the security challenges, handle environmental challenges, support for their micro businesses, better healthcare and good education for children.’’

Manuga expressed optimism that Obi would deliver if Nigerians trust him with their votes in 2023.

“He is the most passionate of all the candidates as he is more concerned about the need to make the country better in the interest of the people than any other candidates.”

According to her, Obi has wide acceptance and a good character, have you ever heard him speak ill of others? Whatever he says is the obvious.

She said in spite of the large support base that Obi enjoys in the numerous youths and women who are supporting him, a lot was being done by women in the party to woo more supporters.

According to her, there are women supporters of Obi who are silently canvassing and mobilising others in their communities toward the actualisation of Obi presidency in 2023.

Manuga advised Nigerians particularly women to resist the temptation of voting based on sentiment, adding “Peter Obi is the best vote any woman can cast, if you are on the side of truth and conscience.”

She advised youths and all Nigerians to shun violence and any acts that could breach peace going into elections in 2023. (NAN)
