AHEAD of the 2023 general elections, Rep. Tunji Olawuyi (APC-Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/Oke-ero) has called for massive support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara.

He said that the APC remained the only party that could meet the yearnings and aspirations of the people at all levels.

The federal lawmaker said this at a one-day Interdenominational Prayers for the successful re-election bid of Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Saturday in Iloffa, the headquarters of Oke-Ero Local Government Area of Kwara.

The interdenominational prayers was also used for a mini empowerment programme for 200 petty traders in the local government to complement the effort of the governor by the Commissioner for Finance, Mrs Florence Oyeyemi.

The lawmaker commended the effort of the commissioner for complementing the effort of AbdulRazaq, saying from the little she received, she still deemed it fit to give back to the people of her local government.

He therefore urged the people of Oke-Ero to reciprocate the gesture by supporting the governor’s re-election bid, including all the candidates of APC in the state and at the federal level.

Olawuyi said that the gesture showed that the commissioner rather than fish for the people chose to teach them how to fish with the empowerment, adding that such empowerment must be put to productive use.

According to the lawmaker, the only party that can be of benefit to you is the APC, saying “you should support our party and mobilise for us at all levels”.

Besides, Olawuyi urged the people to come out en mass to ensure that APC emerged victorious in the forthcoming elections, reminding them that the only party that is masses friendly is the APC. (NAN)
