THE former Zamfara Governor, Alhaji Abdul’aziz Yari on Monday called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) members in the state to remain committed and united for the success of the party in the 2023 General Elections in the state.

Yari gave the charge in Talata Mafara town, Talata Mafara Local Government Area of the state at a stakeholders meeting of the party.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the participants of the meeting were major APC stakeholders from Zamfara Central Senatorial District comprising four Local Government Areas of Bungudu, Gusau, Maru and Tsafe.

In a statement the state APC Publicity Secretary, Malam Yusuf Idris said the meeting was part of the party’s strategies to ensure victory in the 2023 elections.

The former governor was quoted as saying that the meeting became necessary, describing them as the foot soldiers of the party.

“He said similar meeting would hold in all the zonal, local governments, wards and polling units levels so as to complete team work up to grassroots level,” adding that nobody will be left out.

“Yari reiterated that the party’s reconciliation drive for the purpose of unity which brought all the political bigwigs of the state as a family would be replicated at all levels.

“The unity is necessary not only for leaders but for all APC members and citizens so that they can contribute meaningfully to move the party and state forward”, Idris explained.

In his address, the State APC Chairman, Alhaji Tukur Danfulani commended the unity and cohesion achieved in the party as a result of the reconciliation drive between Gov Bello Matawalle and Yari.

Danfulani urged all the stakeholders in the party  to sustain the unity and reconciliation among themselves for the growth and development of the state.

The APC chairman said that large crowd of APC rally for Zamfara West Senatorial Zone organised for Yari’s candidature on Saturday was an indication that APC would sweep all the 2023 elections in a landslide victory.

The immediate past APC Chairman in the state, Alhaji Lawal Liman, in a welcome address said that unity of members of the party would remain non negotiable to succeed in the general elections ahead.

Liman also described the rally as a strong indication that APC was the only party calling the shots in Zamfara. (NAN)
