A total of 25 drug addicted persons who received four-month medical treatment and rehabilitation have reunited with their families in southern Afghanistan’s Zabul province.

The provincial police spokesman, Zabihullah Jawhar said Monday that the former addicts were held in jail for four months receiving medical treatment until they recovered.

Jawhar said that all the former addicts had a satisfied health recovery and were rejoining their families.

He also noted that the provincial administration would try to create job opportunities for the former addicts.

More than three million drug addicts were reportedly living in war-torn Afghanistan.
