A NEW album by 2face Idibia titled ‘Rewind, Select and Update,’ will soon be in the market. The African Pop icon who was the first guest on the second season premiere of Ndani TV’s ‘The Juice’ disclosed to show host Toolz that the album would comprise of “a recap of some of his old songs, remixed.” Idibia’s last album ‘Away & Beyond’ was released in April 2012. The album produced hits songs such as ‘Rainbow’, ‘Spiritual healing’ and ‘Dance floor’.

The HyperTek boss also revealed that his label acts Dammy Krane, Rocksteady and newly signed Victor Uwaifo would all be releasing albums this year.

In his career, 2face has released five solo albums – ‘Face 2 Face’ (2004), ‘Grass 2 Grace’ (2006), ‘The Unstoppable’ (2008), ‘The Unstoppable International Edition’ (2010) and ‘Away & Beyond’ 2012.

Ejiofor in Nigeria For Half Of A Yellow Sun Premiere

CHIWETEL Ejiofor, a British Academy Film Television Award, BAFTA winner and Oscar Award nominee, is set to storm Nigeria for the premiere of Half of a Yellow Sun, which was shot for the most part of last year.

The Nigerian premiere of the movie is set to hold on April 12, 2014, while its nationwide cinema release has been slated for April 25, 2014.

A pre-screening was held in Lagos two weeks ago, with a house full of movie enthusiasts, critics and celebrities in attendance. Set during the Nigerian Civil War, the movie is a story of love, lust, loss and the healing power of forgiveness.

The movie, an adaptation of celebrated writer, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s book of the same name, will be screened in Nigeria, Australia, US, UK, the Middle East and Portugal, has a credible cast made up of Ejiofor, Thandie Newton, Anika Noni Rose, Genevieve Nnaji, Zack Orji, Wale Ojo, Okechukwu Ukeje and Onyeka Onwenu, a veteran singer.

D’Banj Works With Don Jazzy Again

D’BANJ, Afro pop star, is going to work with Don Jazzy, his former producer, to produce his next album. The award-winning musician disclosed this in an interview with Tim Westwood, a United Kingdom radio and TV personality, recently that he was planning to do a Best of D’Banj album for his forthcoming 10th anniversary. “For my 10th anniversary, I am thinking of doing a Best of D’Banj album and Don Jazzy will definitely produce it. I am going to make sure he does,” he said.
