2nd Summit of State Diaspora focal point officers open in Abuja

THE Second Summit of the State Diaspora Focal Point Officers, comprising Commissioners, Special Advisers, Directors General and Coordinators all over the States in Nigeria on Diaspora Matters has opened on Abuja.

The Summit is a stock-taking and consolidation meeting, collective appraisals and evaluations as well as charting a way forward for National Development.

The Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission Abike Dabiri-Erewa explained the specific benefits of the Summit.

The Chief of Mission, International Organisation for Migration said one of the Summit’s goals was to advocate the speedy validation and approval of the National Diaspora Policy by the Federal Executive Council.

Some of the State Diaspora Focal Point Officers gave their scorecards.

The statement by NIDCOM said that the second Summit of the State Diaspora Focal point Officers was sponsored European Union- IOM Project on Migrant reintegration.
