3 arraigned over illegal dealing in hard drugs

TWO men, Magnus Ezimkama, 51; Nicholas Ndubuisi, 41; and a woman, Nnenna Chidinma, 29 ;were arraigned at a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly dealing with substances suspected to be hard drugs on Wednesday
The defendants were arraigned on a two-count charge of conspiracy and dealing with substance suspected to be cocaine.
The trio, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Prosecutor Nosa Watson said that the defendants committed the offences on Aug. 25, about 2.00 p.m., at 6th Avenue in Festac Town Area of Lagos State.
He alleged that the defendants were found with two packs of a substance suspected to be hard drugs.
He added that the alleged offences contravened Section 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 and Section 15(1) of Miscellaneous Act Vol 8, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
The chief magistrate, Miss Adeola Olatunbosun, granted bail to the defendants in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties each in like sum.
She added that the sureties must own landed properties within the state’s jurisdiction.
She adjourned the case until Sept. 31.(NAN)
