3 Div NA holds inter-Brigade sports

THE 3 Division, Nigeria Army, Rukuba, near Jos has organised an inter-Brigade Nigeria Army Sports Festival (NAFEST), aimed at improving efficiency through physical skills.
The Division, in a statement by Col. Kayode Ogunsonya, Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, said that the activity was in line with the Nigerian Army training directives for the year 2018.
According to Ogunsonya, the three-day activity will hold from Nov. 13 to 15, 2018.
“The aim of the competition is to improve combat proficiency through physical skills and organizational ability.
“It is also meant for endurance and promotion of espirit de corps among the participating athletes,” he said.
The spokesman said that participating formations and units for the competition were drawn from the Division’s three areas of responsibility.
According to him, participating formations and units will compete in combat road race (10 kilometres), and close half marathon (21 kilometres).
“The competition will afford the participating athletes a better opportunity to properly for the forthcoming Nigeria Army Sports Festival 2018, which is slated to take place later in the year,” he said.
