3 men in court for allegedly stealing 2 motorcycles

THREE men were on Wednesday arraigned before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing two motorcycles.
The defendants, Ojo Sunday, 38; Yusuf Sanni, 29; and Samuel Joshua, 41 are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor, Insp. Oriyomi Akinwale told the court that the defendants committed the offences on July 21 at about 3.00 p.m. at Ekute Quarters in Ado-Ekiti.
Akinwale alleged that Sunday and Joshua stole two new Bajaj motorcycles valued at N800,000, the property of Mr Sunday Adepoju and Mr Adedeji Ojo.
The prosecutor said that Sanni unlawfully received the two motorcycles from Sunday knowing same to have been stolen.
He said that the offences contravened Section 390(9) and 427 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.
Akinwale asked the court for an adjournment to enable him to study the case file and present witnesses.
Counsel to the defendants, Mrs. Funmilayo Akinwumi and Mr. Busayo Sule, urged the court to grant the defendants bail, promising that they would not jump bail.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Adefumike Anoma, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N10,000 each with one surety each in like sum.
She adjourned the case until Aug.10 for substantive hearing
