3 men in court for allegedly stealing truck parts worth N3.5m

THREE men who allegedly stole a company ‘s truck batteries, tyres and rims, valued at N3.5 million, were on Tuesday arraigned in an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court.
The defendants are, Abdullahi Abba, 27, and Olalekan Idowu,15, both scrap material traders and Frank Kingsley, 26, a driver and also scrap dealer.
Abba, Idowu and Kingsley, who all reside at katangowa Area, Super bus stop, Abule Egba road, Lagos, are being tried for conspiracy and stealing.
The Prosecutor, ASP Raji Akeem, told the court that the offences were committed between April and September, at FAFEM Haulage Nigeria Limited, 469 Abeokuta Express way, Abule Egba, Lagos.
Akeem alleged that the company security caught the defendants stealing some batteries from the company truck.
According to him, the defendants have been the ones stealing the company’s missing equipment since April.
The prosecutor said the offences contravened sections 280 and 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
The accused persons, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs B. O Osunsanmi, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N200,000 each, with two sureties each in like sum.
Osunsanmi adjourned the case until Oct. 27, for further mention. (NAN)
