3,200 benefit from N10m Zakkat in Kazaure

THE Kazaure Emirate Council in Jigawa, has distributed N10 million cash to 3,200 less privileged people in the area.

Malam Gambo Garba, the emirate’s spokesperson, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse on Friday.

He said that the money was disbursed to beneficiaries in nine districts of the emirate.

According to Garba, Alhaji Bala Muhammad, the emirate’s Zakkat Collection and Distribution Committee Chairman, had said the gesture would soon be extended to patients in Kazaure Psychiatric Hospital and other health institutions in the area.

The spokesperson said the Emir of Kazaure, Alhaji Najib Hussaini, had promised that the Emirate Council would ensure regular collection and disbursement of the compulsory Zakkat (alms giving)

He said the emir had urged wealthy individuals in the area to give out Zakkat in support of the needy.

“The emir also called for fervent prayers for peace and economic prosperity in the state and the nation at large”,Garba said.(NAN)
