33-year-old man docked for allegedly ”groping” minor

A 33- year-old man, Emmanuel Orji, was on Friday docked in an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly ”groping” minor.
The defendant, a trader who resides at 33, Apena St., Ago Okota, Lagos is charged with indecent assault and attempt to defile.
The Prosecution Counsel, ASP Raji Akeem, told the court that the offence was committed on Sept. 7 at the accused residence.
Akeem said that the defendant lured the 11-year-old girl to his shop and groped her.
The offence,, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 135 and 262 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs B. O Osunsanmi, admitted the defendant to bail of N200,000 with two sureties in likesum.
Osunsanmi adjourned the case until Oct. 30 for mention.(NAN)
