THE Network of Trade Promotion Organizations, TPOs, of the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, will hold its 4th Annual General Meeting from July 16 to 18, 2024, in Banjul, The Gambia.

The meeting will be attended by representatives of TPOs from ECOWAS Member States or similar organizations, the International Trade Centre, ITC, and staff from the ECOWAS Commission.

Specifically, they will analyze and approve the Network’s work plan and budget for the 2024-2025 period, review the results and lessons learned from the Network’s participation in the 2023 Intra-African Trade Fair, organized in Cairo, Egypt, from November 9 to 15, 2023.

According to the statement by the ECOWAS Commission, the participants will also elect the members of the Network’s 4th Bureau for 2024-2025, and review the activities implemented since the Network’s 3rd General Assembly, held in Bissau, Guinea Bissau, on July 5 and 6, 2023.

The regional organization’s Council of Ministers created the ECOWAS Trade Promotion Organizations Network on June 17, 2021, at its 86th ordinary session.

This network, made up of public sector entities, works closely with the ECOWAS Commission to promote development and trade in West Africa.

“The Network also aims to strengthen economic and trade cooperation, by encouraging more dynamic collaboration between ECOWAS Member states and trading partners in the rest of the world,” the statement added.
