5th Lagos Public Relations Stakeholders’ Conference to address ‘Made in Nigeria’

THE Fifth Lagos Public Relations Stakeholders’ Conference, themed: Addressing Communication & Reputation Challenges of Made in Nigeria, will hold at MUSON Centre, Lagos on Thursday, August 30, 2018.
The conference is set to enhance public perception of Made in Nigeria, change the negative narratives, define the right Communication strategy, set the stage for positive stakeholders’ engagement on the way forward and recognize some promoters in the country.
Babatunde Paul Ruwase, the president, Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is the Made in Nigeria ambassador and chairman of the conference while Governor Akinwunmi of Lagos State is the chief host. Oluwatoyin Sanni, the managing director/CEO, Emerging Africa Capital Group, a lawyer, stock broker, investment banker and general management will deliver the thematic lecture.
Other distinguished speakers expected include Bukola Saraki, the president of the Senate, presenting on the topic: Adopting Legislation to Promote and Protect Made in Nigeria, while Olusegun Awolowo, the chief executive officer, Nigeria Export Promotion Council, will present a paper entitled: Government Position on the Challenge facing Made in Nigeria and Olayinka Oladunjoye, the commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Lagos State, among others.
Speaking on the conference, Olusegun McMedal, the chairman, NIPR Lagos, explained that this year’s conference will engage key stakeholders, including decision makers in government, state, regulators, corporate organisations, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, major chambers of commerce in Nigeria, the media and communication practitioners for better perspectives and strategies to address the communication & reputation challenges facing Made in Nigeria.
“The conference will climax with the Stakeholders & Sponsors Recognitions. This will recognize pre-selected people and organizations that have greatly contributed to the development of Made in Nigeria over the years and celebrate sponsors for supporting the project to promote Made in Nigeria,” McMedal said.
Previous editions featured distinguished speakers including Aliko Dangote, the President, Dangote Group; Babatunde Fashola, a former governor of Lagos State; Ben Murray Bruce, founder/chairman, Silverbird Group, and Adamu Adamu, minister of Education, amongst others.
