MARTINS Azubuike, a former speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, has declared for the governorship of the state in 2019 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Azubike, who was impeached in December 2016 belongs to the faction of the party in the state led by Donatus Nwankpa, a former state lawmaker in the state.

Addressing members of the party in the capital Umuahia on Monday, July 30, Azubuike expressed sorry that the state had remained the least developed and the dirtiest in the country.

He said the major trust of his administration would be on agriculture, commercial and industrial development, education, quality and affordable healthcare, and civil and public service reforms.

The former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and three time lawmaker said others are youth and women development, infrastructure development, judicial and justice sector reforms.

He said 20 years since the present democratic dispensation, the state was yet to enjoy any form of democracy dividends, saying many of the people are unemployed and have become beggars.

Nwankpa said the party is rooted in democracy and would provide level playing field for all adding that only the best would be suitable for party.
