Abia Gov. mourns Iwuanyanwu

GOV. Alex Otti of Abia has described the death of the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, as “a great loss to Ndigbo.and the nation at large”.

Otti’s reaction to the death of the elder statesman is contained in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Njoku Ukoha, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Umuahia on Friday.

The governor was said to have received the news of the sudden demise of Iwuanyanwu “with shock and a heavy heart”.

He described Iwuanyanwu as a great patriot, lover of his people, a successful leader and an outstanding professional, businessman and leader.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Abia, I commiserate with the family of the elder statesman, Imo Government, South-East, the Igbo nation across the globe and the country at large,” the statement quotes Otti to have said. (NAN)
