THE president of Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Dr Al-Mujtaba Abubakar, has congratulated President Bola Tinubu on his inauguration as the 16th president of Nigeria.

Abubakar, in his congratulatory message on Monday night in Abuja, appealed to the president to introduce favourable policies that would be beneficial to the business community.

Abubakar also prayed to God to strengthen Tinubu to deliver all that he highlighted in his inaugural speech.

The ACCI president, who said a lot was expected from President Tinubu, expressed optimism that Nigeria would experience a new turn.

According to him, with President Tinubu’s wealth of experience garnered so far both in business and politics, Nigeria will experience a new turn.

“As expected, Nigeria is waiting to see how the new administration will tackle the fundamental economic issues, security, employment, amongst others,” said Abubakar.

Abubakar further said as a Chamber of commerce and Industry, “we look forward to favourable policies that would be beneficial to the business community thereby helping to contribute greatly to economy development.

“We do hope that this administration will keep to its promises in the area of security, employment, provision of infrastructure, and others.

“Once again, we congratulate the 16th president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmad Tinubu and his deputy, Kashim Shettima,” said Abubakar.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Tinubu had stated in his inaugural speech that security would be the top priority of his administration because neither prosperity nor justice could prevail amidst insecurity and violence.

To effectively tackle this menace, he promised to reform both the security doctrine and its architecture.

On economy, he said his government would target a higher GDP growth and to significantly reduce unemployment, and intended to accomplish this through budgetary reform to stimulate the economy without engendering inflation.

He also said the industrial policy of his administration would utilise the full range of fiscal measures to promote domestic manufacturing and lessen import dependency.

“Third, electricity will become more accessible and affordable to businesses and homes alike.

“Power generation should nearly double and transmission and distribution networks improved. We will encourage states to develop local sources as well,” said President Tinubu, adding that his administration must create meaningful opportunities for youths. (NAN)
