Abule-Ado explosion: Sen. Adeola commiserates with victims

THE Chairman, Senate Committee on Finance, Sen. Solomon Adeola (APC, Lagos -West), has commiserated with the victims and families of those affected in the explosion at Abule-Ado, Amuwo Odofin Local Government, Lagos.

Adeola in a statement by his Media Adviser, Chief Kayode Odunaro on Monday in Abuja, decried the incessant occurrence of explosions in the senatorial district including the devastating explosion at Abule-Ado.

“Serious attention to safety must be put in place across the senatorial district, given the densely population and presence of many establishments with structures and products susceptible to inflammation and explosion.”

Adeola commended the valiant efforts of the men of the Lagos State and Federal Government Fire Services, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and Lagos State Emergency Managemem Agency (LASEMA).

He also commended the Nigerian Navy, the Airforce, other security agencies and the all Nigerians for their roles in managing the disaster.

He lauded the efforts made towards rescuing of school children adding that relevant agencies of government should conduct a thorough forensic investigation on immediate cause of the explosion.

Adeola called on NEMA and the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development to move into the area to provide relief materials as many constituents had been rendered homeless with many in hospitals.

He advised that the Lagos state government should not be left alone to handle the national disaster. (NAN)
