Academy unveils Ex Super Eagles midfielder, Onazi as ambassador

ISLAND Stars Football Academy has unveiled former Super Eagles` midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi as its Ambassador.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Onazi was unveiled at the Island Stars Football Academy office, at Brassas Office, Admiralty Way, Lekki, Lagos.

Island Stars Football Academy is organisations that invest in creating the best, and conducive environment for the development of young talents between the ages of 4 – 18 years old.

Victor Akinmoyo, Chief Executive Officer of the academy, said the academy was working with the understanding that every child is unique.

He also said that the academy operates under four pillars of development, Tactical, Technical, Physical, and Physiological, across the different age category-based levels of Football Development programme.

On the role of Onazi as the ambassador of the academy, Akinmoyo said that he would help the children to mould their career to be  good professionals.

“Onazi as an ambassador of the club will be involved in the academy programmes, the benefits of that will be felt by the students of the academy.

“Onazi will also be a role model and help in maintaining standards and will also be coming around to advise the students and counsel them on their football career.

“He  is one of the few players that is not involved in any scandal about during his professional career, so, having him as an ambassador is a well thought out plan.

“Onazi will also help in exposing our students to international collaboration as he will serve as a link to some clubs around the world, ” he said.

Responding, Onazi  promised to do all in his power to discharge his duty in the ambassadorial role to  the academy. (NAN)
