THE Edo branch, Heavy Trucks Owners, Marketers, and Suppliers Association of Nigeria has appealed to the state government for a trailer park at Ehor to check accidents on Benin-Abuja Expressway.

The association called for it when its delegation visited the Coordinator, Office of Edo Governor’s Wife, Mrs Edesili Okpebholo-Anani, on Friday in Benin City.

The Chairman of the association, Mr Sarahaisu Musa, said that the park, when completed, would provide job opportunities, enhance safety, and prevent accidents, among others, on Benin-Abuja Expressway.

“Our association serves as a unifying body for truck owners, drivers, mechanics, managers, agents, scrap dealers, marketers, and suppliers across the state and beyond.

“We are committed to upholding professionalism, safety, and equitable business practices within the trucking industry, while also contributing to community and national development,” he said.

Musa also highlighted the association’s partnership with the Federal Ministry of Interior and a firm, tagged: 2TOC Solutions Limited, for the establishment of the Nigerian Fire Extinguisher Control Programme.

According to him, the initiative is to train and empower 1,548 of its members as Fire Extinguisher Servicing Vendors across Nigeria.

Mrs Okpebholo-Anani assured the association that its request would get to the Governor, Monday Okpebholo-led administration.

She reiterated that the current administration was passionate about the establishment of a business-friendly environment in the state.

“I know that the government of Edo, under the leadership of Sen. Monday Okpebholo, is  committed to supporting its residents and businesses for the development of the state,” she said. (NAN)
