Adeleke presents N200m to micro credit loans agency for beneficiaries

GOV. Ademola Adeleke of Osun, on Thursday, presented N200 million to the state micro credit loans agency for disbursement to prospective beneficiaries in the state.

Adeleke, represented by his deputy, Mr Kola Adewusi, said his administration understood that prosperity of any society lies in the strength and functions of its small and medium-scale enterprises .

He said that the micro, small and medium enterprises were the bedrock of the state’s economy, which served the purpose of job creation.

Adeleke said that the micro credit agency had been a vital partner in the present administration’s shared vision of economic prosperity in the state.

“Also, with the disbursement of N200 million, I am convinced that another step has been taken  towards building a vibrant entrepreneurial skill set that fosters innovation, resilience, and sustainability,” the governor said.

In his welcome address, the General manager, Osun Micro Credit Agency, Mr Muritala Olagunju, appreciated Gov. Adeleke for leaving no stone unturned in stimulating economic prosperity and wealth creation in the state.

Olagunju said that over 3,000 small and medium scale business owners would benefit from the revolving loans.

Also, the Commissioner for Commerce and Cooperative, Mr Bayo Ogungbangbe,  lauded the present administration for sustaining the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Fund.

Ogungbangbe called  on the prospective beneficiaries of the revolving loans to make judicious use of them.

The programme climaxed with presentation of dummy cheque of two hundred million naira to Osun Micro Credit Agency.(NAN)
