THE Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) has cautioned pensioners against falling prey to fraudsters as the directorate starts the implementation of the consequential adjustment.

Mr. Gbenga Ajayi, Head, Corporate Communications, stated this in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday.

He said that the fraudsters would use the transition to lure pensioners into parting with their entitlements.

“ They are everywhere trying to collect money from pensioners with the promise of helping them to get their money.

“So we are urging pensioners to not fall to the gimmicks of fraudsters and scammers. PTAD does not take money from pensioners,” he said.

Ajayi said that the Dr Chioma Ejikeme-led administration in PTAD was committed to ensuring that pensioners got their money with ease.

He said that pensioners under the Defined Benefit Scheme would be paid arrears accruing from the consequential adjustment.

“It is a double celebration for them, they will also be placed on new monthly pension benefits,” he said.(NAN)
