ECOWAS strongly condemns deadly attacks perpetuated in Ouagadougou

THE commission of the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, said it had learnt with dismay of the armed attacks in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso on Friday, March 2, 2018.

Various sources revealed the targeted locations to include the Prime Minister’s office, Defence Headquarters, French Embassy, French Cultural Centre, and UN Offices

The ECOWAS commission commended the Burkinabe authorities for the prompt reaction of the specialised units of the defence and security forces in bringing the situation under control.

Thus, the commission strongly condemned any act aimed at destabilising Burkina Faso.

It used the opportunity to express its sincere condolences to the families of victims, as well as reiterated its unflinching solidarity and support for the people and government of Burkina Faso.
