The Ministry of Agriculture has rewarded each of the Green Week Quiz Competition winners with 12.5kg bags of Anambra rice.

Addressing the winners at commissioner’s ADP office, Awka, Afam Mbanefo, the commissioner for Agriculture commended the winners and educated them on various opportunities available in agriculture.

He urged them to go into full time agriculture, saying, “agriculture is a good business that one can invest in and make good money.’’

Obioma Mbanefo and Vivian Udemezue, the coordinators of the programme and special assistants to Governor Willie Obiano on Agriculture, said that the prizes were sponsored by JOSAN Rice.

One of the beneficiaries from Obosi, Christian Kelechi Okwor expressed his happiness at the programme, stressing that it would motivate youths to engage in agriculture.

Okechukwu Thompson Okah, another beneficiary from Awka, said that the quiz would help to promote agriculture in the state.

He praised the coordinators of the programme for making it worth the while.

The third beneficiary from Onitsha, Ezeokoli Nnaemeka expressed his happiness at being one of the winners of the quiz.

He hailed the organisers for the opportunity given to them to be part of the event.
