JUDE Nwankwo, Anambra State Agricultural Development Programme, ASADEP, manager, has commended the giant strides of Gov. Willie Obiano in developing the agricultural sector.

He made the commendation in his office at Awka when Udoka Cooperative Agricultural Development Society Scheme, Nnewi South Local Government Area, paid him a courtesy visit.

The manager explained that the spate of development in the state was propelled by the Agriculture revolution, which had also taken the state to enviable heights.

The ASADEP manager emphasised that many farmers that registered with the ministry of Agriculture, Data Centre, benefited from various interventions of agricultural inputs and fertilisers, which helped to increase their yields and income.

He appealed to the association to register with the Agric Ministry to benefit from many more largesse.

Nwankwo assured them that their request would be extended to the Agric commissioner and that ADP would extend technical support on all aspects of agricultural production to the association which was primarily their mandate.

He explained that the Anambra State government was desirous to use agriculture not only to fight crime and create employment but to also help in forming cooperatives societies.

Earlier, Benson Nwawulu, president of the association, thanked the programme manager, saying that they were there to partner with government and to showcase their desire to take farming to another level.

According to him, he will seek for support to increase the production of tomatoes in commercial quantities for local consumption and export too.
