A’Ibom: Deputy speaker urges fairness, credibility in LG polls

KUFREABASI Edidem, the Deputy Speaker, Akwa Ibom House of Assembly, has urged the state Independent Electoral Commission to ensure fairness in the conduct of Saturday’s council election.

Edidem, made the call while speaking at the end of the People’s Democratic Party’s ward to ward campaign in Uyo on Friday.

He said that it was important for the state election body to ensure level play field in the conduct of the election.

The deputy speaker commended party faithful for their impressive turnout during the campaigns.

Also speaking, the Chairmanship candidate, Mr Ubong Nkutt, reiterated his commitment to provide effective leadership at the third tier level.

“We are not in the race for nothing, we are here for a serious business, our interest is to deliver democracy dividends to our people,” he said.(NAN)
