THE Nigerian Air Force, NAF, has refuted allegations that it was planning a coup to topple the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, describing it as  mischievous

A statement issued by Air Commodore Olatokunbo Adesanya, spokeperson of the Air Force, on Thursday, June 8, said the airforce thinks it ridiculous for anyone, especially in the twenty first century to consider changing a government in power through coup.

The statement reiterated the stance of the NAF on the unfortunate coup rumours, saying:  “The NAF is a highly professional and apolitical Service that is focused on ensuring the territorial integrity of Nigeria as well as facilitating a safe and secure environment for Nigerians.”

According to him, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, chief of air staff, CAS, assures Nigerians of the unalloyed loyalty of all NAF personnel to the President and Commander-in-Chief, as well as to the government of Nigeria as democratically constituted.
