GOV. Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has tasked the contractor handling the flyover project at Shagari Estate/Oyarugbulem area in Akure to ensure speedy completion and hand over on the scheduled date.

Aiyedatiwa, represented by his Special Adviser on Infrastructure, Land and Housing, Mr Babalola Joseph, stated this during an unscheduled visit to the construction site on Wednesday.

The governor said that the visit became imperative because the contractor had promised to handover the project in July or August.

He said that his administration was determined that all ongoing projects inherited from the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu would be completed.

“We are here on unscheduled visit to see the level of work done at the overhead bridge construction site.

“The last time we were here, they promised to handover the project in July or latest August.

“On our side, we are owing them nothing and we expect that the project should have advanced beyond this level,” Aiyedatiwa said.

The governor enjoined the people of the state to be patient with the administration, with the assurance that the contractor would not disappoint. (NAN)
