THE National President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Mr Joe Ajaero, has commiserated with the Niger Deputy Governor, Mr Yakubu Garba, over the death of his wife.
Ajaero, during a condolence visit in Minna on Wednesday, said the national leadership of NLC received the demise of Hajiya Zainab Garba as a great shock.
Ajaero, who was represented by Dr Kabir Minjibir, National President of Nigeria Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN), said the deceased left an indelible mark on sands of time.
“We know the strong bond that had existed between you as you have always fondly talked about her and expressed the need to be with her despite your very tight schedule.
“There is no word that can fill the void created by her existence in your life but we want you to take solace in the fact that she has left an indelible mark on the sands of time,” he said.
Ajaero described the deceased as a principled and humble woman that never wavered in her convictions and wifely duties which she pursued tenaciously.
In the same vein, Minjibir, who led the national and state executives of MHWUN, said the union received the news of the sudden demise of the deceased with shock.
He said the deceased was a caring mother and a pillar of support to the family as well as a dependable ally and exceptional support system to MHWUN and labour families in the state and the country.
Responding, Garba, said the loss of his wife has created a lesson for all to learn that death can come to anyone at any time.
He appreciated the leadership of MHWUN and NLC for the visit and standing by him and prayed for the existing to wax stronger in unity and love.
In a related development, Garba also received the people of Borgu Emirate, Niger House of Assembly Service Commission and members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Niger on similar condolences. (NAN)
