THE death of  Akpo Esajare, former political editor ,The Guardian Newspapers, was indeed a huge loss to the Nigerian media and the political class.

Akpo, as fondly called, has the grasp of political under currents in the country.  Very passionate, concise, informative, and prolific in political reportage, analysis, and features.

He bestrides the political reportage like a narrow world and gives  “The Guardian  newspaper,” a distinction in political commentary as an elist tabloid.

I love his writing skills.

He  should have been hired by Nigerian universities as adjunct in the political science department or Mass Communication to share his deep practical  knowledge of Nigerian politics.

The Guardian newspaper management should put his write-ups together for a celebration of life programme for Akpo, preferably at Nigerian Institute of Journalism ,NIJ. Lagos.

We must preserve his legacy of political reportage.

Adieu Akpo Esajare. You came ,saw, and conquered .

THE NIGERIAN MEDIA AND THE POLITICAL CLASS APPRECIATES YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS.

GOOD NIGHT.
