The Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital says it will offer free glaucoma screening to 100 women journalists in Kano, as part of activities marking the 2021 World Glaucoma Week.
The Deputy Director, Information of the hospital, Mrs Hauwa Muhammed, made this known in a statement issued in Kano on Thursday.
She said that the exercise had been scheduled for between March 7 and March 13, adding that it would be conducted by doctors from the Opthalmology department of the hospital.
Muhammed said that exercise was part of activities, including public lecture and health walk, to commemorate the Week.
The statement also quoted the Head of Opthalmology department of the hospital, Dr Sadiq Hassan, as urging people of between 40 and 50 years to attend regular glaucoma screening.
Hassan also appealed to the media to assist in spreading the message of the 2021 World Glaucoma Week. (NAN)
