Akwa Ibom mourns death of First lady, Patience Umo Eno

IT is a black Friday for the people of Akwa Ibom State as they received the news of the passing of the governor’s wife, Patience Umo Eno.The press statement signed by the commissioner for information, Ini Ememobong, said: “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of the wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, following an illness. She passed away peacefully at the hospital, on 26th September, 2024, in the presence of her family.”

It added that despite this personal tragedy, Governor Umo Eno has reassured the people of Akwa Ibom that his commitment to public service remains unwavering.

According to the statement, the governor has expressed gratitude to all those who have stood by the first family during this challenging period.

“Further details regarding burial arrangements will be communicated by the family in due course. As the state grieves the loss of its First Lady, citizens are urged to keep the governor and his family in their thoughts and prayers while giving them privacy as they mourn their beloved wife, mother and grandmother and navigate this painful time,” it added.
