Alegeh & Co. appoints new coordinating partner as Malik, SAN leaves

OLAWUNMI Nwano has been appointed as the coordinating partner of the law firm of Alegeh & Co.
Her appointment followed the exit of the former managing partner, Aikhunegbe Anthony Malik, SAN.
According to a statement signed by the founding partner of the firm, Augustine O. Alegeh, SAN, dated Friday, July 14, Malik, SAN has decided to move on to new challenges in law practice and “there is no doubt that he will excel in all his future endeavours.”
The new coordinating partner, Nwano is a 2004 graduate of the Faculty of Law, Lagos State University (LASU).
She was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2005 and joined the Firm in 2013.
She became a partner in 2019 and has been the head of the Firm’s Commercial Law Practice Department.
The statement said Malik left the firm after a period of over 13 years of dedicated service.
“Malik, SAN joined the firm in 2010 shortly after his tour of duty special adviser to the attorney general of the Federation and minister of justice.
“His commitment to hard work led to his appointment firstly as a partner and subsequently as the managing partner of the Firm. In 2019, he was admitted into the inner bar as a senior advocate of Nigeria.
“Malik, SAN contributed immensely to the growth and development of the firm in several ways and will always remain a part of Alegeh & Co.
“We wish him the very best and the Firm is grateful to him for his years of service,” the statement concludes.
