ALLIANZ Nigeria on Monday announced the appointment of Mr Jaideep Goel, an Executive Director of the insurance company as its interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO) subject to regulatory approval and appointment of a new CEO in due course.
Mr Ekpe Kanma, Reputation And Transformation Manager of the firm, said, in a statement in Lagos, that Goel’s appointment followed the resignation of Ms Adeolu Adewumi-Zer as CEO and Managing Director of the firm.
“Goel joined the board of Allianz Nigeria in 2020, with over three decades of experience spanning general insurance operations, underwriting, claims management, sales and business development.
“As Executive Director, Technical, he was responsible for enforcing underwriting discipline and loss control that helped to sanitise the books of the company.
“In his new role, he will also be responsible for leading the sales functions and the business at large, in the interim,” the statement said.
Ms Delphine Traore, Regional CEO of Allianz Africa, said with exceptional technical qualities and sense of commercial relations, Goel had the necessary experience to lead the transformation necessary to stimulate even stronger growth of the insurer’s operational entity in Nigeria.
Traore reaffirmed Allianz’s commitment to its investments in the Nigerian
market, thanked the immediate past CEO, Adewunmi-Zer for her commitment and wished her the best in all future endeavours. (NAN)
