Ambode Promises to keep Lagosians Safe during Easter Holidays

THE Lagos State government has assured Lagosians of their safety during the Easter holidays as it is collaborating with security agencies to put in place necessary security measures that will guarantee safety of lives and properties in the State.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by Steve Ayorinde, commissioner for Information and Strategy, the government described the safety of Lagosians as top priority during the Easter celebrations as the administration of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode will not shirk from its function of protecting the lives and property of its citizens.

Ayorinde urged residents and visitors to the State to be conscious of their environment and report promptly any unusual movement, abandoned objects, packages and strange faces in their neighbourhood to security agencies as security personnel have been put on alert throughout the State.

While urging Lagosians to celebrate the Easter in moderation, the statement also advised citizens to avoid, as much as possible, walking alone at night, especially on deserted streets.

While wishing Lagosians a happy Easter celebrations, Ayorinde reiterated the Akinwunmi Ambode administration’s commitment and capacity to go after, and suppress any act of criminality in any part of the State.

He therefore urged them to take advantage of the state’s toll free lines – 112 and 767 in reporting any case of crime or emergency within their neighbourhood.
