Anambra Assembly mourns colleague as Gov Obiano Condoles with family

MEMBERS of sixth Anambra State House of Assembly on Wednesday, September 27, held a valedictory session for Francis Mmegbuanaeze, their departed colleague and member representing Idemili North.
Speaking during the session, Rita Mmaduagwu, the speaker, recalled deceased’s constructive arguments and sound contributions toward making Anambra a better state.
Earlier, Governor Willie Obiano commended the legislators for their support to the family of the departed.
He urged them to remain united and continue to be legislating on issues that would aid improvements of the state.
Obiano also urged the family to take solace in God, as the state would not abandon them.
Mmegbuanaeze, who died on August 15, 2017, after a brief illness, hailed from Eziowele, Idemili North LGA local government area.
Some of the legislators who eulogised the late member, include Harford Oseke, the deputy speaker, and Victor Okoye, the majority leader.
In their separate tributes, the legislators described him as a peace maker, a leader with great sense of humour, who touched many lives.
They noted that he had lived a life of emulation and contributed in reshaping the House positively.
Speaking on behalf of the family of the deceased, Laz Okafor thanked the state government and members of the legislature for their response to the needs of the family since the sudden death of their brother.
Okafor who regretted the gap in the family, prayed God to provide them another `David in the midst of the battle’.
