Anambra FRSC unveils Plans to ensure safety on roads in Ember Months

THE Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Anambra State Command has restated its readiness to reduce road accidents to in ember months.
Sunday Ajayi, the Anambra FRSC sector commander, said this while interacting with newsmen in his office at Amawbia.
Ajayi said they had since embarked on `park to park’ visit to sensitise drivers on the road safety measures.
He added that the command had introduced road safety clubs in schools across the state to inculcate good road culture into students.
The sector commander explained that motorists see ember months as a period to make quick money and advised drivers and other road users to ensure that their vehicles were in good condition before embarking on journeys.
He, then, appealed to them to ensure total compliance with the approved speed limit.
Ajayi noted that a lack of vehicle maintenance and human factors as major contributors to road accidents, and called on Nigerians to adopt road safety measures and attitudes.
He urged his officers and men to rise to the challenge of their duties in order to actualise the set goals of the command.
He also commended the state government for its support, while calling for rehabilitation and maintenance of some roads in the state.
