ANAMBRA State Government has pledged to construct bridge over the Innoma-Igbedon leading to Olumbanasaa communities in Anambra West Local Government Area.
The bridge will cut across many communities and provide access road to the people of the area.
Governor Willie Obiano who said this during APGA rally at the field of Umueze Anam, Anambra West LGA, noted that the bridge when completed would aid evacuation and export of goods within and outside the state.
He said he regretted the deplorable condition of federal road linking communities in Kogi, saying palliative work on the road, would soon commence with installing culvert to encourage smooth transportation.
Obiano assured them of his administration’s commitment toward fulfilling his promises, urging them to support his second term bid.
Victor Okoye, the member representing Anambra West in the Anambra State House of Assembly, commended the governor for his efforts at minimising crime and criminality that had promoted different strata of businesses in the state.
“We are living below water level, but Gov. Obiano deemed it fit to provide adequate safety measures for us at riverine areas. He has opened up agrarian communities to speed up food production.
“Our community is contributing to the rice production in the state. We are benefiting from the agricultural policies of Obiano administration and we have resolved to give him maximum support,’’ Okoye said.
Collins Nwabunwanne, the transition committee chairman of Anambra West, revealed that Obiano administration had constructed the longest bridge linking many agrarian communities, which cost the state government billions of Naira.
Nwabunwanne observed that the N20 million Community Choose Your Project; had provided economic respite to the people of the community.
He urged the state government not to relent in projecting the welfare of the state.
Others who spoke, Victor Umeh, chairman Obiano re-election Campaign Committee, and the National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Oye enjoined the people to protect their votes in the November 18 election to avoid malpractices.
There was presentation of awards to the governor by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, Anambra West branch, and reception of some youth in APGA.
